October 2, 1999 Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty marries Puerto Rican American model Marisol Maldonado on a ranch in California. The wedding is broadcast on ABC's Celebrity Weddings In Style.

February 22, 1998 Tori Amos marries her longtime sound engineer, Mark Hawley, at a small stone church in West Wycombe in North London. The couple's move to Hawley's native England inspires Amos' tune "Welcome To England."

March 1, 1997 Skillet frontman John Cooper marries Korey Pingitore, who joins the Christian rock band two years later as a keyboardist and rhythm guitarist.

February 7, 1997 Sarah McLachlan marries her drummer, Ashwin Sood, in Negril, Jamaica. They split in 2008.

May 18, 1996 Brad Nowell of Sublime marries Troy Dendekker, the mother of his son, Jakob. He dies of a drug overdose a week later.

July 11, 1995 Richard Ashcroft of The Verve marries Kate Radley of Spiritualized. They keep it quiet for two years, as Radley's bandmate, Jason Pierce, is also her ex-boyfriend.

March 11, 1995 Liz Phair marries film editor Jim Staskauskas. They divorce in 2001.

September 17, 1994 Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots marries his first wife, Janina Castaneda. The STP song "Sour Girl" is about her.

August 4, 1994 The Notorious B.I.G. marries R&B singer Faith Evans.

July 2, 1994 Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong marries Adrienne Nesser. The next day, Adrienne discovers she is pregnant with their son, Joseph.

April 16, 1994 Harry Connick, Jr. marries Victoria's Secret model Jill Goodacre in New Orleans.

December 15, 1990 Rod Stewart marries the supermodel Rachel Hunter, telling reporters, "I've put my last banana in the fruit bowl." The couple split eight years later.

August 23, 1989 Ric Ocasek of The Cars marries the model Paulina Porizkova. They met when she starred in the video for the Cars hit Drive.

June 5, 1989 Bill Wyman's Rolling Stones bandmates are among the guests celebrating his wedding to 18-year-old Mandy Smith, which took place three days earlier at a registrar's office. Wyman, 52, started seeing Smith when she was just 13. They separate nine months later.

January 8, 1989 Richard Marx marries Dirty Dancing actress Cynthia Rhodes, subject of his song "Right Here Waiting." They divorce in 2014.

August 13, 1988 Robert Smith of The Cure marries his childhood sweetheart, Mary Poole, at the Benedictine Monastery in Sussex, England. Poole appeared in the "Just Like Heaven" video and inspired the hit "Lovesong."

April 24, 1988 Mick Fleetwood marries the singer Sara Recor (who partly inspired the song "Sara") at their Malibu home. His Fleetwood Mac bandmate John McVie is best man; attendees include Bob Dylan, Dick Clark, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Mac members Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham. The couple divorce a few years later.

November 16, 1987 Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, who plays Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show, elope in Las Vegas. They divorce in 1993 but have a daughter together, Zoe Kravitz.

July 27, 1986 Nancy Wilson (of Heart) marries screenwriter Cameron Crowe at her sister Ann's home. They remain married until 2010.

May 24, 1986 Garth Brooks marries his college sweetheart, Sandy Mahl. They'll welcome three daughters before their divorce in 2001.

December 16, 1984 Just six weeks after first meeting, Bette Midler marries Martin von Haselberg of the UK performance duo The Kipper Kids. Unlike many showbiz unions, this one lasts.

July 12, 1983 U2 guitarist The Edge marries his high school girlfriend Aislinn O'Sullivan. They welcome three daughters before separating in 1990.

March 4, 1983 George Jones marries his fourth and final wife, Nancy Sepulvado, at the home of the singer's sister, Helen Scroggins, in Woodville, Texas.

April 3, 1982 Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager marry. Five days earlier, the songwriters took home Oscars for Best Original Song for their work on "Arthur's Theme (The Best That You Can Do)" from the movie Arthur.
