June 16, 2007 61-year-old Rod Stewart marries his third wife, 35-year-old model Penny Lancaster, on board the yacht Lady Ann Magee in Portofino, Italy.

June 25, 2006 Keith Urban marries the Australian actress Nicole Kidman, who was previously engaged to Lenny Kravitz. Kidman inspires many of Urban's songs, including "Got it Right This Time (The Celebration)" and "Once In A Lifetime." They announce their divorce in 2025.

May 31, 2006 Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook of Little Big Town get married in a quiet ceremony but don't go public with the news until two months later, surprising fans who didn't know they were a couple.

December 3, 2005 Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age marries Brody Dalle of The Distillers. They have three children before splitting up in 2019; much of the 2023 QOTSA album In Times New Roman... deals with their messy divorce.

June 1, 2005 White Stripes singer Jack White marries his girlfriend, British model Karen Elson, in a canoe on the Amazon in Brazil.

October 2, 2004 55-year-old Billy Joel marries Katie Lee, his third wife. She becomes a writer and TV personality while married to Joel, a union that lasts five years.

September 18, 2004 Britney Spears marries her fiance, dancer Kevin Federline, at a private home in Los Angeles. The 27 guests are told it's an engagement party and are surprised to learn it's an actual ceremony, which lasts five minutes. It is Spears' second marriage in nine months; they divorce less than three years later.

August 27, 2003 Janis Ian marries her girlfriend, Nashville defense lawyer Patricia Snyder, in Toronto, one of the few places where gay marriages are legal.

July 23, 2003 In a bizarre ad placed in Variety, James Brown announces his separation from his fourth wife, Tomi Rae, by featuring a picture of the couple and their two-year-old, James Brown II, posing with Goofy at Disney World.

August 9, 2002 Lisa Marie Presley marries actor Nicolas Cage, a union that lasts less than four months.

April 11, 2002 Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock are engaged after he proposes to her in the desert outside Las Vegas.

March 18, 2002 Members of The Doobie Brothers attend the wedding of Liza Minnelli and David Gest, who did PR for the band decades earlier. Also attending are Dionne Warwick and Petula Clark.

March 16, 2002 Liza Minnelli takes her fourth trip down the aisle when she marries promoter David Gest in New York. Michael Jackson serves as best man and Elizabeth Taylor is matron of honor.

January 1, 2002 56-year-old Eric Clapton marries the 25-year-old American graphic designer Melia McEnery, who will be the mother to three of his children: Julie Rose, Ella, and Sophie. It's a surprise wedding that takes place at St. Mary Magdalen church near London, where his 16-year-old daughter Ruth and 6-month-old Julie Rose are getting baptized. After the baptism, the vicar turns around and marries the couple to the astonishment of the 20 guests.

November 10, 2001 Country singer Chalee Tennison and guitarist Mark Gillespie marry following a three-year courtship. The marriage is Tennison's fourth and Gillespie's first.

April 12, 2001 Gladys Knight marries her fourth husband, longtime friend William McDowell.

March 24, 2001 John Connolly of Sevendust marries Lori Kirkley.

February 18, 2001 James Taylor marries his longtime girlfriend Kim Smedvig at a small ceremony in Boston. It's Taylor's third wedding, and later in 2001 the couple have twin boys through a surrogate mother.

May 21, 2000 Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots marries the model Mary Forsberg. It's his second marriage, and this one is low-key, taking place at a restaurant in Los Angeles. Celebrity guests include Weiland's bandmates and Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers.

November 6, 1999 Lee Ann Womack marries record producer Frank Liddell.

August 23, 1999 Phil Everly of The Everly Brothers marries his third wife, Patti Arnold, at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

August 20, 1999 In Somerset, England, Fatboy Slim marries the BBC DJ Zoe Ball. They get lots of tabloid attention before separating in 2016.

June 5, 1999 Frankie Laine marries his third wife, Marcia Ann Kline.

June 1, 1997 At age 58, Kenny Rogers gets married for the fifth time, this time to his production assistant Wanda Miller. The couple have two children.

May 11, 1997 Country singer Trace Adkins marries Rhonda Forlaw in Nashville.

November 16, 1996 Country singer Lorrie Morgan marries her fourth husband, songwriter Jon Randall ("Whiskey Lullaby"). They divorce in 1999.

April 16, 1996 Judy Collins marries her second husband, designer Louis Nelson.
