Drake and Kendrick Lamar Beef Escalates Into Epic Feud

2024

Kendrick Lamar disses Drake in the song "Like That," igniting a high-profile feud that gets ugly. Lamar wins the popular vote in this rap battle when his diss track "Not Like Us" goes to #1.

On "Like That," Lamar takes a poke at Drake and J Cole, letting them know they're not in his league. Cole is the first to respond, going after Lamar on this song "7 Minute Drill" ("Your first s--t was classic, your last s--t was tragic"), but he quickly backpedals, apologizing to Lamar and pulling song - he'll ride this one out on the sidelines. A few days later, Drake comes back at Lamar with "Push Ups," listing all the rappers who have him "wiped down." He follows it by posting "Taylor Made Freestyle" on social media, implying that Kendrick is waiting for Taylor Swift's OK before responding (Lamar does a verse on a remix of her song "Bad Blood"). Lamar answers the bell on April 30 with "Euphoria," quickly followed by "6:16 in LA." Drake comes back with "Family Matters," triggering Lamar's rejoinder "Meet the Grahams." Each release gets more personal and pointed. Lamar goes after Drake's parenting skills and implies he has a secret daughter; Drake claims Lamar abused his girlfriend. The knockout blow comes when Lamar drops "Not Like Us" on May 4, claiming Drake is a predator whose success is due to his writers and producers. That one goes to #1 as this feud hits its apex. Drake's reply, "The Heart Part 6," gets little reaction.
