February 4, 2008 Phil Lesh, Bob Weir and Mickey Hart resurrect Grateful Dead for a benefit concert in support of presidential hopeful Barack Obama in San Francisco.

January 2, 2008 With talk of a Kinks reunion in the air, the band's guitarist, Dave Davies, takes to the Internet to share his feelings: "It would be like a poor remake of Night Of The Living Dead."

August 15, 2007 The Osmonds reunite for the first time in over two decades to perform their 50th anniversary concert for PBS.

April 29, 2007 Rage Against The Machine reunite to close the Coachella Festival, their first show in seven years. They keep performing together until 2011 but don't release any new music. In 2022 they tour again for the last time.

November 17, 2006 Icelandic rock act the Sugarcubes take the stage in Reykjavik for the first time in 14 years. The group, whose most famous alumnus is Björk, reassembles to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its debut single, "Birthday."

April 20, 2006 Smashing Pumpkins, who split in 2000, announce their reunion. A year later they release a new album, Zeitgeist.

November 16, 2005 Pink Floyd, The Kinks and Eurythmics are among the honorees inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame. The second annual show, which takes place in a ceremony at London's Alexandra Palace, features some momentous reunions, including the gathering of the original Kinks and a performance by the classic line-up of Black Sabbath, featuring Ozzy Osbourne.

April 30, 2005 Bauhaus reunite to play the Coachella Festival, opening their set with "Bela Lugosi's Dead," which lead singer Peter Murphy performs hanging upside down.

June 16, 2004 The three surviving original members of the New York Dolls perform together for the first time since 1975 at the first of two shows at London Royal Festival Hall. The concerts are spearheaded by The Smiths' frontman, Morrissey, who was once the president of the Dolls' UK fan club. The band continues to record and perform in various incarnations after the reunion.

January 19, 2004 VH1 goes on a mission to bring '80s bands back together with the series Bands Reunited, successfully reanimating A Flock of Seagulls, Scandal, The Alarm, and in this first episode, Berlin. Extreme and New Kids On The Block don't reunite for the show but do a few years later.

November 22, 2002 Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors announce plans to re-form with The Cult lead singer, Ian Astbury, and The Police drummer, Stewart Copeland. They initially tour as "The Doors of the 21st Century," but a lawsuit by original drummer, John Densmore (who declined to tour citing hearing loss), forces them to stop using the "Doors" moniker. They change their name to "Riders on the Storm" as a result of the litigation.

July 23, 2002 Dire Straits play the first of three shows at Shepherd's Bush Empire, London. It's their first concert since 1992, but they perform under the name Mark Knopfler And Friends to make it clear a reunion is not forthcoming.

March 18, 2002 Talking Heads play live for the first time since 1984 when they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, The Ramones, Brenda Lee, Gene Pitney and Isaac Hayes.More

February 9, 2001 After being booted from the "reunion" lineup of the Eagles, guitarist Don Felder files a lawsuit against the group.

November 11, 2000 The original Meters reunite for one - and only one - gig in San Francisco, their first since 1977.

September 21, 2000 Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, and Tony Banks re-form as Genesis for a one-off performance at the London Hilton during the British Music Roll of Honour gala, organized by the Music Managers Forum. The act's manager, Tony Smith receives the Peter Grant Award for outstanding achievement at the event.

April 25, 2000 Eric Clapton is reunited with his former Derek & the Dominos keyboard player Bobby Whitlock for their first performance together in 29 years. The setting is the London-based BBC TV series Later With Jools Holland.

January 24, 2000 Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young open the first tour of the full quartet in 25 years with a show at Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan.

October 5, 1999 After breaking up in 1983, The Who reform when Roger Daltrey announces that they will play a concert in Las Vegas.

October 30, 1998 Original members of Black Sabbath reunite for a one-off performance on Late Show with David Letterman.

June 4, 1998 Ray Charles reunites with his legendary touring band to perform in celebration of his 50th year in show business at the 15th annual Chicago Blues Festival in Grant Park.

February 19, 1998 With Brian Setzer leading the swing revival at the helm of The Brian Setzer Orchestra, he reunites Stray Cats for a show at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, with proceeds going to the Carl Perkins Center For The Prevention Of Child Abuse.

November 25, 1997 The original Zombies lineup -- Rod Argent on organ, Colin Blunstone on vocals, Paul Atkinson on guitar, Chris White on bass, and Hugh Grundy on drums -- reunites onstage for the first time in 30 years at London's Jazz Cafe, performing two songs only: "She's Not There" and "Time Of The Season" to promote their new box set Zombie Heaven.

October 31, 1997 Jane's Addiction reunites for a Halloween show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

September 30, 1997 Fleetwood Mac's reunion show at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey, grosses a house record of $1,094,520.

September 17, 1997 Fleetwood Mac begin their first tour in 20 years at the Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut. The tour produces a live album called The Dance.

August 12, 1997 MTV debuts the Fleetwood Mac reunion concert The Dance, marking the first time the five had been on stage together since 1982.

April 11, 1997 After a 20-year absence, Grand Funk re-forms for a tour that benefits the Bosnian-American Relief Fund, which aids victims of the genocide in Bosnia.

February 26, 1995 Former Led Zeppelin duo Jimmy Page and Robert Plant kick off a year-long world tour in Pensacola, Florida, supporting their live No Quarter reunion album.

October 12, 1994 MTV airs the reunion concert special of Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, entitled Unledded.
