March 19, 2016 I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It by The 1975 goes to #1 in the US, becoming the album with the longest title to hit the top spot.

February 27, 2016 Twenty One Pilots' "Stressed Out" peaks at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it stays for one week. It's the duo's first foray into the Top 10.

February 13, 2016 Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" replaces his song "Sorry" at #1 on the Hot 100. It's the third consecutive #1 single from his Purpose album ("What Do You Mean?" was the first), making it the first album by a male artist with three straight chart-toppers since Justin Timberlake's FutureSex / LoveSounds.

February 6, 2016 Panic! at the Disco top the US albums chart for the first time when Death of a Bachelor goes to #1. The group stalled at #2 with their 2008 release, Pretty.Odd.

March 7, 2015 Drake places an astounding 14 songs in the Hot 100, thanks to the release of his mixtape If You're Reading This It's Too Late. The Beatles are the only other act to accomplish this, with 14 songs on the tally for a week in April 1964. Drake goes on to place 27 songs on the chart dated July 14, 2018.

December 21, 2013 "The Monster" by Eminem featuring Rihanna hits #1 in America. It's the first hit co-written by Bebe Rexha, who later emerges as an artist.

August 24, 2013 The Civil Wars, the folk duo of Joy Williams and John Paul White, hit #1 in America with their self-titled sophomore album, but split up without ever performing songs from the set.

August 24, 2013 "Royals" by Lorde goes to #1 on the Alternative chart, making her the first female solo artist to top that tally since Tracy Bonham did it in 1996 (five months before Lorde was born) with "Mother Mother."

December 5, 2012 Alicia Keys scores her fifth #1 on the Billboard albums chart with Girl On Fire.

September 22, 2012 Taylor Swift's single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" notches its third week at #1 on the Hot 100. Swift is still considered a country artist (the song also hits #1 on the Country chart), which puts her in company with Kenny Rogers in terms of crossover appeal; the last country song to spend at least three weeks at #1 was Rogers' "Lady" back in 1980.

September 19, 2012 The Dave Matthews Band sees their album Away From the World debut at #1 on the Billboard albums chart. This continues the band's unbroken winning streak of six #1 albums on the Billboard 200.

September 15, 2012 TobyMac's sixth album, Eye On It, debuts at #1 on the Billboard 200, becoming just the third contemporary Christian album to top that tally. The previous chart-toppers were both in 1997: Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle and You Light Up My Life – Inspirational Songs by LeAnn Rimes.

September 12, 2012 After years of mainstream popularity, considerable airplay, and being nominated for numerous awards, Matchbox Twenty finally get their due on the charts with a #1 debut on the Billboard albums chart. North is their first top-charting album and their fifth studio album in the 16 years the band has been together.

June 6, 2012 One Direction's video release of Up All Night: The Live Tour debuts at #1 on the Billboard Music Video Sales chart, while their first single, "What Makes You Beautiful," goes to #4 on the Hot 100.

April 21, 2012 Nicki Minaj goes to #1 in America with Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, becoming the first female rapper with a #1 album since Eve in 1999.

March 21, 2012 The Wanted become the first UK boy band to land a Top 5 hit in the US when "Glad You Came" peaks at #3. The single got a boost after it was covered on Glee in February.

January 7, 2012 "The One That Got Away" from Katy Perry's album Teenage Dream hits #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart, making the album the first in history with seven #1s on that tally.

October 20, 2010 Lil Wayne, in prison on weapons charges, hits #1 in America with his album I Am Not a Human Being, recorded before he started serving his eight-month sentence.

March 28, 2010 Laura Marling's second album, I Speak Because I Can, debuts at #4 on the UK albums chart.

January 23, 2010 Powered by the single "TiK ToK," Kesha's debut album, Animal, hits #1 in America.

September 12, 2009 The Christian rock band Skillet charts on the Hot 100 for the first time when their single "Awake and Alive" ekes in at #100. The track is from their hit crossover album Awake, which debuts at #2 in the US.

November 8, 2008 AC/DC start a two-week run at #1 in the US with Black Ice, the band's 15th studio album. It goes to #1 in 29 countries, including Australia, Canada and England.

September 27, 2008 Pink earns her first solo #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with "So What" from her fifth studio album, Funhouse. It holds the position for one week.

August 16, 2008 Noah and the Whale make a splash when their debut single "5 Years Time" peaks at #7 on the UK Singles Chart. It proves to be the biggest hit for the British group.

December 16, 2007 Beyoncé hits #1 in America with the Ne-Yo-penned single "Irreplaceable," which spends an astonishing 10 weeks at the top spot.

October 27, 2007 Led by the "Werewolves Of London"/"Sweet Home Alabama" mashup "All Summer Long," Kid Rock's Rock N Roll Jesus hits #1 in America, giving him his first chart-topping album.

October 23, 2007 Robert Plant and Alison Krauss's Raising Sand debuts at #2 in America. Plant, 59, turned down a Led Zeppelin reunion tour to focus on the project.
